I don't know whyyyyy I keep doing this to myself. BJDs are a hobby of suffering and testing your self restraint. [Spoilers] I have none.

So, the lovely Kanis has offered- well more than offered- been pleaaading with me for me to let her get me a doll. I have been good and said nyuuu, because they are expensive as balls and I'd feel bad not getting her one back because I'm broke as balls. Besides she's also been getting me dolls while I slooowly pay her back via WoW game time and other things. We just got my first SD, so I currently have much to pay her back for =w=.

But then I went on resinsoul to taunt myself with the doll I had been looking at... we got the wig for her already... and... and.....

and then I looked her up on flickr and that is my downfall every time. Just look at this doll guys!

So for the past couple months my dad and I have been trying to work out getting a dog, I've wanted one for AGES but I couldn't really find the right breed that fit my life style and my mildly nitpicky appearance preference. I have a shameless weakness to the big and floofy, but after having collies I have this aversion to dogs that get Bob Marley dreads after rolling over. So after taking a bit of a chance- and me being kind of a notorious Japanophile, I took a look at some of the popular Japanese dog breeds. I hear so many kids going on and on about Shiba Inus, and my favorite series has an Akita in it, I finally looked into the breed. Kinda reluctant at first because I don't want to get lumped in with those kids who just want the dogs because they look like foxes and they're Japanese. But then the more I got on reading about them the more I noticed how well an Akita would mesh with my lifestyle.

Of course, I'm sure everyone knows me well enough that I essentially spent hours looking up things about the dog, from breeders, to stories, to any information I could possibly get at all, and of course some general dog things. And this really hit me hard right before finals because clearly I needed yet another reason to not study (I passed the courses, I have no regrets).

First breeder I contacted actually just randomly stopped emailing me. I emailed her asking for information, she asked me a few basic questions I wrote a small novella of an email back(and no one was surprised) because I wanted to make sure I answered the questions she asked as well as several other I thought she might like to know just to be on the safe side. And she never got back to me. I'm not sure if it was because she's Polish and maybe she had a difficult time sorting through my obnoxiously wordy English, or if it was because I asked her about what everything would cost me so I could make sure I had enough. But now I'm honestly nice and paranoid about what I write... or how much of it, but I'm still flailing in the dark as to what I am supposed to do when just emailing a stranger- so I ramble and write more when I'm nervous and as you can guess it kind of turns into a Catch-22.



The second Breeder though, has been an absolute sweetheart, and thank god, doesn't seem to overly mind my tendency to just blather on and on. She had a questionnaire thing to answer, and an application for once the puppies were born, and I... actually had to try really hard to just answer the questions asked, and I admittedly did kind of poorly at that. But she accepted my questionnaire and I'm on the mailing list and she gave me a lot of good training advice and holy crap you guys I am so stoked you don't even know! She's allll the way on the other side of the country in California, but I definitely recommend her for anyone looking to get a Japanese Akita. I'm not sure how much she'll appreciate me shamelessly throwing out her information like this but considering I am sure there are only about 1-2 people who will bother reading this- It's Kaiju Kennels and the website is adorable, and there's a litter that is going to be born soon and they're going to life stream it and I am just such an excited puddle of gloop.
